i want men to be able to emotionally connect with people they don’t plan on having sex with. i want men to stop assuming i am planning on having sex with them because i make an effort to engage with them emotionally. i want men to stop feeling personally betrayed by the fact that i engage deeply & genuinely with people regardless of whether i desire them sexually, because i value people & seek to understand & connect with them regardless of sexual attraction
I like the implication that the Chinese have mastered every human language and are only confounded by the speech of the undead.
The company I work for uses a slightly obscure program called GhostScript to produce certain reports, so now I’m picturing it as the Chinese saying ‘I’m sorry, I don’t speak weird old computer program.”
in case y'all forgot bohemian rhapsody was directed by a known child predator
Except he directed for like three weeks before he got fired. He wasn’t invited to the awards and no one even mentioned him in their speeches. He went completely unmentioned, but still had the audacity to post a thanks on twitter lmao. The real director who took over after him is Dexter Fletcher, but union laws require that Bryan Singer be credited.
In my junior year of high school, this guy asked me on a date. He rented a redbox movie and made a pizza. We were watching the movie and the oven beeped so the pizza was done. He looked me dead in the eye and said, “This is the worst part.” I then watched this boy open the oven and pull the pizza out with his bare hands, rack and all, screaming at the top of his lungs. We never had a second date.
olaf is the prime example of a genuinely bad character who did a few good deeds in his life and doesnt get redeemed because of it. the baudelaires did not mourn for him. they buried him because to them, they felt thats what they should do. they still hated him. count olafs ending is not an excuse to crown him your “uwu precious angel who was misunderstood.” he is a bad person who had a few good moments. dont romanticize his abuse of the baudelaires just because he carried kit to the island.
I’ve been watching a lot of the Great British Baking Show lately and I just want to bake like every other recipe they showcase so badly, but I can only bake so often…
There’s this guy that sits in front of me who you would think is a conservative redneck bc his entire aesthetic is southern lumberjack w boots and denim and hats but he’s actually one of the most inclusive and anti trump guy I’ve ever met and today he wore this hat that sums up his entire personality and I’m screaming.
Don’t judge a book by its cover; make cornbread, not war.
Hey, this is the motto of the Southern Foodways Alliance, and among other things, they have an AMAZING podcast called Gravy, which ‘shares stories of the changing American South through the foods we eat’.
You like this hat. Listen to that podcast. You’ll be happy.
Y'all need to stop being surprised by the radicalism in The South. The idea that Southerners are inherently more backwards is steeped in classism and ableism and erases all the awesome work marginalized folks are doing out there
it’s never too late!!!!!!! to text them back. to drink enough water today. to get into a skincare routine. to learn the piano or how to paint!! to learn winged eyeliner. to tell them how u feel. to start getting fitter. to get changed or brush your teeth or shower today. to read that book or watch that show everyone was talking about years ago. to turn an acquaintance into a friend. if u don’t start somewhere u won’t go anywhere at all.
